About the Farm
Meet the PIRMANNS
We're a small diversified farm located near Tunnel Hill in Southern Illinois. Surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest, our farm rests upon a watershed divide between the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. This both literally and figuratively connects us to the land from river to river. We farm and live as sustainably as possible.
Retired from the Navy, we, John and Tam Pirmann, have returned to our home in Southern Illinois to live out our dream of living off the land.
We grow and craft products that are good for your body, inside and out. We offer goats milk and honey soaps and lotions, homegrown luffa, and a variety of vegetables. We have also added a line of homemade pasta made with organically grown and milled flour from Janie's Farm and Mill in central Illinois. We use our own farm grown herbs to flavor much of our pasta.

Goat milk products
The girls in our goat herd provide us with the milk and a local farm provides the honey for our goat milk and honey soap. Tam makes a goats milk and honey soap with all natural ingredients. Olive, sustainable palm, coconut, and castor oils are blended with the goat milk, honey and lye. After saponification, what is left is a mild and richly moisturizing bar of soap. They are then cured for at least four weeks to ensure a long lasting bar. All of Tam's soap are made in small batches to guarantee the best quality.
We also make a thick and rich goat milk lotion as well as a luscious Butter Balm lip balm.

Farm Fresh Pasta
Made with organically grown local flour
We've added farm fresh pasta to our enterprise. We purchased our Italian pasta extruder and equipment in 2019 and have had fun adding new shapes and seasonings to our ever growing inventory. We source our flour from Janie's Mill and Farm in central Illinois and grow the herbs we add to our pasta. We make long and short noodles in small batches to ensure quality.

River to River Farm products can be found through Little Egypt Alliance of Farmers. LEAF is a coop of farms come together to offer a wide variety of produce, meat, eggs, and value added products in an online market. Click here to view the LEAF website.
We also attend the Carbondale Community Farmers Market the first and third Saturday each month from December to March.
